ABSTRACT
The quality of atmospheric air has improved in recent years, but there are still situations in which the atmospheric emissions combined with specific meteorological conditions make short-term air quality indicators in excess of the acceptable standards. In the months of January-March 2017, the smog phenomenon, present especially in large urban agglomerations received significant media coverage. The statistical analysis of the concentration of suspended particulate pollution PM10 – fractions with a particle diameter less than 10 μm (identified with smog) in Wrocław in the years 2012-2017 was performed. Similarities and differences in the volatility of this indicator were noted in the period X-IV 2016/2017 when compared to the previous five years in Wroclaw. There were no statistically significant differences in air quality in the recent period compared to the previous ones.
