ABSTRACT
Changes in the degree of habitat moisture are one of the major factors affecting the variability of plant communities and their constituent species populations. The aim of the study was to find if the quantitative and qualitative structure of the vegetation cover exhibits variability in relation to the degree of habitat moisture. The investigations were carried out in basin without outlets, i.e. small isolated hydrogenic object located in the agricultural landscape of the Lublin Upland. In basin, a transect was established, along which floristic inventories were made. In the years 2006–2013, the level of surface water were monitored. On this basis, four areas of habitat moisture were identified. The results indicate that the flora of the analysed object is characterised by a very broad spectrum of ecological tolerance. The vegetation cover is influenced by habitat moisture whose gradient determines the occurrence range of many species.
