The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of land use change in East Sinjai Subdistrict on East Sinjai Subdistrict. Develop water management strategies to balance availability with population needs in East Sinjai District. Research method The data processing method used in analyzing land use change is the Geographic Information System (GIS) method with Arcgis 10.8 application tools with Landsat high-resolution satellite imagery by overlaying the conditions of the research location and formulating a strategy for managing the Kalamisu water catchment area so that there is a balance with the level of needs in the next 10 years in East Sinjai District. The approach used is a mathematical calculation with a certain formula to predict the population for the next 10 years in order to anticipate the needs and supplies in terms of water use for the benefit of water governance in the Kalamisu watershed. This research is expected to be a positive contribution to the Sinjai Regency government and enrich scientific discussions about spatial management related to water management.The study used quantitative analysis to identify the demand for water resources. Qualitative analysis was used to explain the physical condition of the area to analyze various data and quantitative information related to the process of resource management and water management strategies in the study area. The data used were primary data collected from the interpretation of satellite imagery to determine the general location and interviews were conducted to gather information through secondary data that could support the process of problem identification and data analysis. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that in 2012-2017 land use in East Sinjai District which experienced a significant increase, namely settlements of 136.6 Ha due to an increase in population growth of 58,986 people. the infiltration potential of the Kalamisu River Watershed is small in critical condition. The total water availability in East Sinjai District has decreased from 2012, 2017 and 2022, namely -4658505 m3/year. To enhance soil water absorption and groundwater availability, employ proactive soil conservation methods like infiltration wells and terraces to reduce runoff and boost soil infiltration capacity.
