ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to evaluate the impact of the landfill non-hazardous or inert waste , on the groundwater environment. Research was conducted during operating period till 2009 and after starting reclamation. The assessment of water quality in years 2007-2015, in the region of landfill not- sealed, located at the gravel pit exploited, was based on the own research and monitoring received from the municipal office. At the landfill were stored not only mixed municipal waste but also sewage sludge and in large amounts, because about 28% of furnace waste.Waters flowing out of the landfill revealed an increase in pollution indicators such as: total organic carbon (TOC), periodically electrolytic conductivity and heavy metals including cadmium and copper. It was demonstratedthat the quality of groundwater was modified not only the storage wastes, but also agricultural activity in the areas adjacent to the landfill.
