ABSTRACT
This paper presents the changes in the consumption of basic production means in Polish agriculture as they are ones of basic determinants of plant cultivation intensity. Established trend rates concerned the sale level of: mineral fertilizers, crop protection measures and certified seeds. The obtained results confirm that during the research period the use of some production means in national agriculture was adverse. The consumption of mineral fertilizers in kg of mineral fertilizers on 1 ha of agriculture land, especially nitrogen fertilizer, considerably increases and the consumption of agricultural lime decreases. This is reflected in the obtained effects of agricultural production and the condition of agricultural lands. In balanced agriculture the level of consumed mineral fertilization is to guarantee the profitable crop, but at the same time it is not to create threat to natural environment. The plant protection by pesticides is increasing in Poland and the established trend rate took into account years 2005-2011. In the period 2002-2004 statistics did not present the full range of crop protection measures authorized for sale and consumption. In contrast the consumption of qualified seeds of basic grains and seed potatoes considerably decreased in Polish agriculture. Only for triticale it was noticed that the trend rate of qualified seeds was increasing. So the farmers should be more widely informed about the advantages of the exchange of seed grain for qualified grains. It will facilitate the quicker implementation of variety progress to agricultural production and adverse changes slowdown agricultural production.
