ABSTRACT
The main goal of this work is the analysis of issues related to the safety of water supply systems in rural areas. In the paper the characteristics of risks in the water supply system (WSS) resulting directly from the operation of the system and damage of its elements, failures of water pipes and external causes as a result of accidental contamination of water sources, forces of nature, flood, drought, etc. The method of safety assessment of WSS and the method of determining criterion levels of safety were presented.
